Originating in Korea, the dalgona coffee challenge saw millions of users post videos of their dalgona coffee creations. Equal proportions of instant coffee powder, sugar and water are whipped together for the challenge and added to a cup of hot or cold milk. In this vegan dalgona coffee recipe, we show you how you can recreate the dalgona coffee challenge like a professional.
Ingredients

- 120 g Nescafé Classic
- 120 g granulated sugar
- 150 ml of boiling water
- 360 ml almond milk

- Combine the instant coffee and sugar in a large mixing bowl, then add the hot water. Whisk the ingredients vigorously until you achieve soft peaks.
- Strain the dalgona coffee mixture into a siphon using a fine-mesh strainer, connect your Smartwhip and charge it to 7 bar. Disconnect the siphon and shake it for 10-15 seconds to evenly distribute the gas.
Serving
Briefly heat the almond milk or add in some ice cubes for an iced coffee-style dalgona coffee, evenly distribute the milk between five cups, then release a generous amount of the dalgona coffee foam on top. Dust a little bit of cinnamon to garnish the drink and serve immediately.
